GRACOL Enterprises Ltd manufacturers GRACOLITE pultruded fiberglass handrail components and fabricates to required assemblies. These assemblies are available in fully fabricated or as kitset ready for site installation depending on site and freight considerations.

 

Gracolite fiberglass hand-railing is designed for industrial / commercial applications such as stairways – platform – walkways and Guard-railing for machinery and equipment. These strong light weight railing systems are well suited to corrosive environments found in many industrial sites such as wastewater treatment – chemical plant and all structures within a salt water / air environment.

 

Manufactured designed and assembled to meet customer requirements along with local regulations and the following standards.

            AS 1657 structural standard - platform – stairway – handrail systems

            System complies with IBC -2003

            OSHA – 1910 – 23

            Tested to Appendix B & C of AS1657 – 1992 see IMTEST report

GRACOLITE Components used in standard railing systems. The following list details the components used to make up a typical straight handrail. All components are coloured safety Yellow.

            Vertical post or stanchion                GST 5056 – 50x50x6.0 square hollow section

            Handrail round top rail       GCSHR – 50x50x6.0 round top “U” section

            Handrail top rail spigot/jointer     GST 3835 -38x38x5.0 square hollow section

            Handrail centre rail spigot/jointer GT 2509- 25x9.0 round tube

            Handrail centre round rail                GT 3225 – 32x25 round tube

            Handrail toe board                          GF 1006 – 100x6.0 flat bar

            Handrail fixing pins                          GR 808 – 8.0mm solid rod

Note in some heavy industrial applications the round top rail is replaced with the same square section as used for the stanchions and a GT3825 round tube is used as the spigot, in this case a 38mm round hole is drilled in the top rail for fixing to the stanchion. All joints are glued with a two pot epoxy and pinned for maximum strength and security. Stanchions are normally bolted to the support structure, or special arrangements can be made for top fixing or spigot fixing where lift out sections are required.

All sections are manufactured with maximum rovings to give the ultimate tensile strength and mattings inside and out with surface veil on all surfaces for maximum UV protection.
