| Chemical Resistance |
This is our most common request and in most cases standard GRACOLITE pultruded sections will meet the required standard. This is due to the P-100 resin system we use in all standard products. Please refer to the P-100 resin data sheet for full details. We request details of concentrations and operating temperatures for special applications. |
| UV Resistance |
Along with the P-100 resin system and a special non-woven polyester surface veil all GRACOLITE structural sections have excellent UV resistance. Please refer to our data sheet covering accelerated testing showing 30 year exposure with no degradation. |
| Operating Temperatures |
GRACOLITE sections will handle -50deg up to +130deg C with special resin we can produce product to operate in temps above 180deg C. |
| Structural Strength |
Pultruded fiberglass sections naturally have very high tensile strength (higher than steel) due to the longitudinal fibers. However, the bending moment (stiffness) is not as high as steel. Structural design needs to reflect this. See data sheets for full details. |
| Flexural Strength |
Pultruded sections have a very high flexural strength and excellent memory when a load is applied the section will bend more than steel but when removed the section will return to original. See data sheets for full details. |
| Assembly into Engineered Structures |
GRACOLITE sections are designed to be built into all types of structures, walkways – platform – tank stands - pipe support frame to name a few . We recommend a bonded joint with mechanical fastener as the best suited jointing method. |
| How will FRP Prices Compare with Stainless Steel |
Generally GRACOLITE structures will be cheaper than stainless steel. |
| Maintenance |
Compared to steel structures GRACOLITE will require almost no maintenance just a wash down will restore the new look. |
| What Sections Should We Use |
Just send us a sketch of your proposed structure or application with loading details, we will be pleased to advise the most suitable materials for your project. |
| Can Pultruded Sections be Painted |
