GRACOL Enterprises Ltd was born in December 1979 by founder Graham Le Compte and partner Colin West hence the company name Gra-Col was created. Graham had pioneered the pultrusion industry in New Zealand by setting up manufacturing plant in 1960 to produce fiberglass fishing rod blanks and continued to expand this field of solid rod production until setting up Gracol. In 1994 Colin sold his interest in Gracol to Graham and wife Bev, the company is still privately owned.

Gracol entered the market with Fibreglass electric fencing products, solid round rod and “Y” shaped posts. Soon expanding into pultruded floor gratings and then to simple angles and channels for constructing walkways and platform. This expanded into stairways - handrail systems – cable ladder and many other support systems now accepted by engineers as preferred materials in combating corrosion at many industrial plant sites.

Electrical insulation properties found in pultruded fiberglass sections proved to be quite exceptional and this opened new demands for expansion into the field of utility ladder components motor winding components and transformer sections all of which are now stock lines in the wide range of standard GRACOLITE pultruded sections.

The company now produces a large range of composite structural sections to international standards, also fabricates and installs purpose built assemblies for industrial and commercial clients worldwide. GRACOLITE composite sections are engineered to meet the technological requirements expected in our ever changing environment; these pultruded composite products are rapidly replacing conventional materials used in the construction, transport, infrastructure aerospace, marine, water quality, wastewater treatment plant, pulp & paper and many other industries.
